NJ Transit Develops Contingency Plan for Commuters Before Strike

With the deadline for the rail strike approaching on Friday, May 16, at 12:01 a.m., NJ Transit is developing a contingency plan for commuters. This plan includes adding limited capacity to existing New York commuter bus routes that are close to rail stations and contracting with private carriers to operate bus service from key regional Park & Ride locations during weekday peak periods.

NJ SEED: A strike that disrupts NJ Transit’s operations would mean major problems for many NJ computers. Planning for an interruption in service is advised, but hopefully can be avoided.
