State Finalizes Vehicle Access Map for Wharton State Forest

State authorities have finalized new vehicle access maps and rules for New Jersey’s largest state forest. 


On Monday (11/25), the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection announced the new guidelines for Wharton State Forest and pledged to begin “strict enforcement” soon.

NJ SEED: In addition to promoting economic development, protecting the environment – as the name implies – is part of NJ SEED’s mission. Managing traffic in the state’s largest forest is a necessary step to ensure that the important Pinelands natural resource is preserved.
