Representative Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ) announced that she will join Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) as a Co-Chair of the Congressional Delaware Watershed Caucus. The bipartisan caucus is dedicated to preserving and safeguarding the Delaware River Basin — a critical economic and environmental resource in New Jersey.
“The Delaware River Watershed is a critical environmental and economic resource for New Jersey, which is why I am so excited to lead the Delaware River Watershed Caucus with Rep. Fitzpatrick this Congress. The Watershed helps filter our air and water, control stormwater and protect us against flooding, and provides habitats for diverse plants and animals, all while bringing tourism to the Garden State. I look forward to working with the caucus to continue to bring home federal funding to preserve and protect this important resource,” said Rep. Sherrill.

NJ SEED: It is good to have a NJ member of congress serving as Co-Chair of the Delaware River Basin Caucus. The Delaware River Basin is essential to NJ interests. The watershed touches nearly two dozen congressional districts in five states. A Garden State advocate in a leadership position on the Caucus should help bring more federal resources to our part of the region.
