Rutgers University Approves BS Degree in Real Estate Program

The Rutgers Board of Governors voted to approve a Bachelor of Science degree program in real estate that will be offered to students at Rutgers Business School in Newark and New Brunswick. 

The degree program has been designed for students with an interest in real estate and real estate-related assets and will provide training in the development, investment, financing and management of real estate projects.

NJ SEED: This could signal a major transition in higher education. Adding degree programs in areas where there is opportunity for employment such as real estate, and, in the future, the trades could be a path to survival for many colleges and universities. Too many of these institutions across America charge outrageous tuition for degrees that offer minimal marketability, leaving graduates with high debt and low chance of gainful employment in their chosen field of study.
