A controversial rule governing how workers are classified in New Jersey will move forward, after the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development formally adopted regulations Tuesday (6/26) pertaining to the state’s “ABC test.”

NJ SEED: The ABC test needed clarification to protect both workers and employers. The rule adoption seeks to, in the words of Labor Commissioner Kevin Jarvis, “protect legitimate independent contractors, support employees, and respect businesses that follow the rules.”
