New Jersey Jumps to Top 10 in National Rankings for Energy Efficiency

The State of New Jersey is being recognized as a national leader in energy efficiency programming and outcomes in the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy’s (ACEEE) 2025 State Energy Efficiency Scorecard, which ranks all fifty states and Washington D.C. New Jersey ranked #8, returning to the top 10 for the first time since 2008 and was listed as one of the most improved States.

NJ SEED: It is commendable that NJ ranks high for energy efficiency by the ACEEE. It may be comforting to know that the findings are pleasing to the state’s Office of Climate Action and the Green Economy. NJ SEED commends the administration, the BPU, and the state’s utilities for advancing energy efficiency in light of the higher costs that will likely accompany energy production that does not rely on fossil fuels.
