Governor Mikie Sherrill today (9/29) unveiled her Administration’s comprehensive five-pillar plan to accelerate housing production and bring down costs at the Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development. NJ SEED: There can be no doubt that Governor Sherrill is serious about addressing affordable housing. The accelerated plan announced last week in Atlantic City calls for development near transportation, schools, and jobs. It also calls for expedited permit approvals, the use of specific state properties, vacant office buildings, and aging strip malls. These and other initiatives are designed to move NJ closer to meeting the projected goal of 350,000 affordable dwellings.
