Climate Grants for New Jersey in Trump Administration’s Crosshairs

Funding for nine environmental grants in New Jersey worth about $24 million has been targeted as part of the Trump administration’s sweeping push to cut federal investment to combat the human-fueled climate crisis.

NJ SEED: In an era when it’s all politics all the time, it is important to keep in mind that elections have consequences. EPA has stated, “As with any change in administration, the agency is reviewing its grant funding to ensure it is appropriate use of taxpayer dollars and to understand how those programs align with administration priorities.” The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has taken a slash and burn approach to ferreting out “waste, fraud, and abuse” in federal spending. As a result many causes will lose federal funding. Hopefully, those that are most worthy will survive.
