New Jersey is home to more than 80 data centers, and others are under construction or planned. The power-gobbling installations, often in warehouse-size properties, are putting increasing pressure on an aging power grid as they drive artificial intelligence digital programs.

NJ SEED: Data centers are essential to providing the power needed for the growing and expanding use of artificial intelligence. If NJ is to hold a place in the emerging age of AI, it will need many more data centers. Perhaps some of the warehousing that was overbuilt can be adapted for data centers and large battery storage facilities.
