Are air traffic control changes behind Newark airport delays?

Delays and cancellations at Newark Liberty International Airport have been pervasive since the air traffic control center was moved from Long Island to Philadelphia. Now the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Inspector General is opening an audit to determine what’s gone wrong, including several alarming blackouts involving planes flying in and out of Newark.

NJ SEED: Continuing delays at one of the nation’s busiest airports should not be tolerated. Clearly the neglect of the air traffic control system the root if not the major part of the problem. A concerted and high priority effort must be taken by the US Department of Transportation to address the critical safety issue.
