Woodbridge Natural Gas Plants Would Back Up Wind Energy, Company Says
March 10, 2023 | patch.com
As Gov. Phil Murphy aggressively pushes offshore wind development, a proposed natural gas power plant in Woodbridge Township would be a back-up for wind power once it comes ashore.
Since 2016, CPV has operated an existing natural gas power plant in the Keasbey section of Woodbridge. Now, they seek to open a second plant(.)
NJ SEED: If, as suggested, the most advanced offshore wind technology can only operate about 50 percent of the time, it is imperative that back up energy sources be made available. There was a time, before the war on fossil fuels, when natural gas was considered “clean energy”. Note that the map indicates there are to be NO wind farms in sight of Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard.
