This year’s general election in New Jersey proceeded smoothly for the most part, but that hasn’t quieted calls from voter advocates for additional reforms to make it easier for people to vote and boost public confidence in the process and outcomes.
NJ SEED: There are 364 days between General Elections. While memories are fresh the immediate post-election period is a good time to consider whether and to what extent reforms are needed. Most things can stand improvement, but it is wise to know the motivation behind those who advocate change and “reform”. Behind progressive and impartial-sounding words there usually lies a partisan advantage.
