The U.S. Supreme Court issued a unanimous decision this morning (4/18) allowing New Jersey to unilaterally withdraw from the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor, ruling against New York’s efforts to force New Jersey to remain in the bistate commission.


NJ SEED: A hard-fought bipartisan battle to assert New Jersey’s primacy in overseeing operations of the NJ/NY port has been decided in New Jersey’s favor. With 80% of port activity on the NJ side of the Hudson, it is in the state’s interest to police this activity without interference from NY.
