With New Jersey flush with surplus money as the state’s Fiscal Year 2023 Budget is hammered out, the Republican members of the Senate Budget Committee released a proposal today pushing for $8 billion in tax relief as well as other amendments to Gov. Phil Murphy’s proposed budget.
NJ SEED: The Republican plan may be a smart political move to demonstrate contrast with the Murphy budget proposal. With pretty comfortable majorities in both houses, there is little chance the Republican plan will get much traction before the legislature sends the FY 2023 budget to Gov. Murphy by the end of June.
