Putting Central Jersey on the Map — Officially

Despite boasting pivotal American Revolution battlefields, popular state parks and numerous other attractions, several counties in the central region of New Jersey have yet to see tourist visits and spending totals return to pre-pandemic highs.

As part of efforts to spur a more robust rebound, a recently enacted state law calls for redrawing New Jersey’s official tourism map to promote “Central Jersey” as a visitor destination.

NJ SEED: A good idea to promote central Jersey for tourism with its economic benefits. The counties of Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex and Somerset all qualify as Central New Jersey and should benefit from the tourism designation.
