The Port Authority agency announced Wednesday (4/5) it would partner with NASA to plan the future of the region’s airspace. The skies are going to get increasingly crowded as technologies like drone delivery move forward. The partnership will also explore transportation possibilities available through new aircraft that take off and land vertically, and prepare for the infrastructure needs of electric flight. Port Authority leaders say the new partnership will keep the agency, and the region, on the cutting edge of technology and policy.
NJ SEED: Much of the success of the NY/NJ Port Authority has been its ability to see into the future and plan accordingly. Partnering with NASA to help find ways to address emerging aviation technologies is a wise decision.
