With no debate, the Assembly on Thursday (12/7) approved a bill (A4791) that allows water utilities to recover the costs of improvements to its sewer and drinking water systems more quickly without regulatory review.

NJ SEED: Whether it be by regulatory process or automatic increases without review, it is always the rate payer who bears the costs. Enabling water utilities to more effectively recover costs related to upgrading systems especially to meet standards related to “forever chemicals” appears to be necessary.
