A dangerous Temptation in Trenton –

In the last month, all three Wall Street rating agencies have upgraded New Jersey’s credit, undeniable evidence that Trenton has been cleaning up its act.


But please, let’s not blow this. To put this in terms most of us can understand, we just lost 5 pounds with diet and exercise, but we have about 50 pounds to go. This is no time to camp out on the couch and eat fudge.


NJ SEED: In an opinion piece, the Star Ledger’s Tom Moran gives credit where deserved for major strides in funding public pensions and modest steps to decrease the state’s debt. He cautions, however, that NJ’s improved credit rating should not encourage legislators to repeat last year’s appendage of over $2 billion in “Christmas Tree” items.
